The purpose of the Association is to promote the profession of the fire service, to improve the methods of fire prevention, training, protection, and extinguishment and to maintain high standards of professional ethics among the Fire Service Officers of Louisiana.

2009 Legislative bills that relate to the fire service has been posted to the 2nd VP page by Chief Ed Smith, Chairman of the LFCA Governmental Affairs Committee.
Membership Information:
• Active Members - All chief officers are eligible to join. Active Members shall be entitled to hold elective office, serve on the board of directors and vote on all matters requiring a vote of the general membership.
• Associate Members - Shall include those fire department officers not eligible for Active Member status.
