The purpose of the Association is to promote the profession of the fire service, to improve the methods of fire prevention, training, protection, and extinguishment and to maintain high standards of professional ethics among the Fire Service Officers of Louisiana.
Our MissionA. To obtain and circulate information of fire administration, prevention, protection, training, and suppression.
B. To encourage study, research, and analysis of all matters relative to the protection and saving of life and property from the perils of fire and other disasters.
C. To encourage the active co-operation and exchange of information among the members.
D. To secure the co-operation and assistance of other organisations in the field of fire prevention and protection.
E. To render whatever assistance possible to other members, individuals, or organisations interested in fire prevention and protection.
F. To promote the fire service in the highest degree of professionalism and promote the welfare of all Louisiana fire fighters.
G. To render to the citizens the most efficient service possible.
Additional InformationMembership is open to Fire Service Personnel interested in assisting the LFCA with meeting our mission. Membership is divided into nine geographic districts and one specialized Industrial district. Association hosts Annual Conference in the spring of each year and a fall educational weekend. Association participates in partnerships with the Louisiana State Fireman's Association (LSFA), the Professional Firefighters of Louisiana, the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA), the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and other organizations.
